The Miss Universe Organisation runs Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, with 50 state competitions feeding into the national finals. The winner of Miss USA represents the USA at Miss Universe. Separately, Miss America is a scholarship-focused competition with its own 50-state structure, crowning Miss America in September each year. Miss America winners can go on to represent the USA at Miss World.
The major American titles and their dates
One of the world's most iconic pageants, Miss America awards over $5 million in scholarships annually and emphasises talent, community service, and interview alongside presentation. The title is Miss America 2027 as the competition takes place in 2026 for the 2027 year.

Miss Teen USA 2026 — the teen counterpart to Miss USA, part of the Miss Universe organisation. State competitions run throughout the year. The winner represents the USA's next generation on the world stage. Miss Teen USA 2025 was held in October 2025 in Reno, Nevada.
Miss Earth USA 2026 national selection. The winner represents the United States at Miss Earth 2026, the international environmental beauty pageant expected in November 2026 in the Philippines. Miss Earth is one of the Big Four international pageants and focuses on eco-awareness and nature conservation.
IJM 2026–2027 grand finals — Celebrating 18 Years of The Dynasty. IJMUK winners represent the UK across all age divisions: Princess (4–6), Jr Pre-Teen (7–9), Pre-Teen (10–12), Jr Teen (13–15), Teen (16–18), Miss (19–29), and Ms (30–39). Early check-in December 29.
The Galaxy International Pageant 2026 is held in San Antonio, Texas. UK Galaxy Pageants selects its winners to travel to America and compete here, covering multiple age divisions from age 9 upwards. The four-day competition draws representatives from Galaxy national pageant systems worldwide.
How the USA qualifies for the world's biggest competitions
The 75th Miss Universe is being held on home soil — at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, November 2026. Miss USA 2026 will represent the United States at the competition. The USA has won Miss Universe nine times, more than any other country, making this one of the most anticipated annual competitions for American pageant fans. State-level Miss USA competitions are running now through summer 2026.
Miss World 2026 is being held in Vietnam from 9 August to 5 September 2026 — the first time the world's oldest major pageant has been hosted in Vietnam. Miss America has traditionally been the pathway for a US representative at Miss World. The Miss America pageant takes place in September 2026, naming Miss America 2027.
